Raised in South Surrey, Bruce started in the Construction Industry after high school. Starting as a carpenter's helper he worked his way up to a project manager responsible for the construction of single & multi-family frame buildings, office and industrial facilities. In addition to new construction, he has extensive experience in renovation & restoration of wood frame and concrete structures. Obtaining his real estate license in Calgary, Bruce has been involved with both residential and commercial projects with site acquisition and leasing or sale of the finished project. He is the General Partners of the Courtenay Crossing Limited Partnership, Walnut Grove Town Centre Limited Partnership and Trafalgar Square Limited Partnership in Brentwood Bay as well he is an owner of Mt. Boucherie Place 36 unit rental townhouse project in West Kelowna.

Hugh immigrated to Canada from Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) in Southern Africa in 1998 and after a stint in landscape maintenance joined Hugh & McKinnon as a Strata Agent in 1999. An ex-career military officer, Hugh has a Bachelor of Science degree and diplomas in Marketing, Sales, and general management.

David was first licensed in 1986 and joined Hugh & McKinnon in 2000. He has also served for many years on the Business Practices Committee at the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and Chaired a large number of hearings. Prior to coming to Hugh & McKinnon, Carl was a realtor for 15 years, specializing in land assembly and sales of new homes. He came to Hugh & McKinnon in the early 1990’s, and started a career in Strata Management. Carl has become one of our most knowledgeable Strata Agents. He has a low key approach, and takes a professional attitude towards his profession. He is well liked by his peers and his clients.

Catherine Keating

Catherine Keating, Strata Property Agent
Catherine began her career in Real Estate in 2005, working on new construction sites for developers. She received her Real Estate License in August 2006 from the UBC Sauder School of Business, and continued selling for developers at their sales centers in Surrey and White Rock, while also specializing in the resale of strata units in Langley, Surrey and White Rock. She made the shift to Strata Management in 2009, but has retained her Real Estate License. She joined Hugh & McKinnon in 2010. Catherine has lived in BC all her life, moving to the Lower Mainland from Vancouver island in 1989.

Patrick comes to Hugh and McKinnon from the securities industry where he was a full service Investment Advisor for over twenty years. Using his financial and customer service experience he will strive to bring superior service to strata corporations and their respective councils. Patrick’s other interests include raising two children, with his wife Tina, and volunteering with local minor hockey and softball associations. Currently he also serves as a crew member with the Royal Canadian Search and Rescue Unit based in Crescent Beach.

Since joining Hugh & McKinnon in 1994, Denise has been focused on property management and real estate sales. From 1998 – 2003, Denise managed the Residential Rental Department and its staff, building a management portfolio of residential homes, townhouses and condominiums. In 2003, Denise shifted her focus to commercial property management and residential appraisals. Denise obtained her diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia in 1994. She also completed further education through the Sauder School of Business to complete requirements for her residential appraisal certification. Denise is a professional member of both the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia and the Appraisal Institute of Canada, holding the RI(BC) and the CRA designations. With prior experience in Retail/Commercial Marketing and Management, Denise provides her clients with a depth of real estate management knowledge.

Edward went into construction as a general contractor specializing in office, retail and industrial buildings in 1981. In his 10 years of construction, Edward worked his way up from a site superintendent to an estimator/project manager to a construction manager. Edward went into property management in 1992 and has been looking after commercial/industrial properties ever since. Since joining Hugh & McKinnon in 2008, Edward has also obtained his Strata Management Services.

Ann immigrated from Scotland in 1982 and was raised in Surrey. She started her Real Estate Career in 1994 working for the Real Estate Superintendant of British Columbia as the Condo Officer for the Province. Ann left the Superintendent office in 2001 and until 2007 she worked as a Strata Manager specializing in new development working closely with developers. Ann joined the Hugh McKinnon team in 2007 as a Rental Investment Manager. Ann has been a student at UBC Sauder School of Business since 1992 and is currently a licensed Strata Manager and Property Manager and has completed the Trading license requirements. Ann offers a superior level of real estate knowledge and professionalism to all of her clients.

Debbie Dowden, Rental Property Manager
Debbie joined the Hugh & McKinnon Property Management Team in 2006 after obtaining her Property Managers License from the UBC Sauder School of Business. She has enjoyed the past 10 years in the real estate industry. Before joining Hugh & McKinnon she assisted the Asset Manager for a large Property Management company overseeing over 1,000 tenants in both residential apartment complexes and commercial buildings. Originally from the East coast, Debbie has spent close to 15 years in British Columbia and now makes White Rock her home.
